Merry Christmas!
This is my favorite holiday! I love looking at all the pretty Christmas lights, I love Snow! I love spending time with my family, and most of all eating food! What are your traditions? What did your parents do when you were little? Is there anything special that you do every year for Christmas? I always wake up early and make Bubble Bread, and Roast Beast (Roast, Potatoes, & Carrots). I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year! Be safe! See you next year!

Synopsis
I am Meredith Gentry, P.I. and Princess Merry, heir to the throne of Faerie. Now there are those among us who whisper I am more. And who can blame them? I've awakened the dazzling magic that's slumbered in them for thousands of years. But the thing is, I can't figure out why.My aunt, Queen of Air and Darkness, is no longer distracted by her sadistic hobbies. Her obsession has turned unwaveringly to me. The mission to get me pregnant and beat my cousin Prince Cel to the crown is taking longer than expected. Even though I spend each night with the Queen's Ravens, my immortal guards, no child has come of our decadent pleasures. But something else is happening. My magic courses through me uncontrollably. And as I lock my half-mortal body with their full-Sidhe-blooded ones, the power surges like never before.
It all began with a chalice. I dreamed of it, and it appeared, cool and hard, beside me when I awoke. My guards know the ancient relic well - its disappearance ages ago stripped them of all of their vital powers. But it is here with us now. My touch resonates with its force, and they're consumed with it, their Sidhe essences lit up by it. But even as they cherish me for this unexpected gift, there are those who loathe me for it. Me, a mongrel, only half fey and part mortal. The Unseelie court has suffered for so long, and there are some who would not have it weakened further by an impure queen. My enemies grow in number every day. But they do not know what I am capable of. Nor, for that matter, do I...
Review
It took me 3 weeks to read this book. It just didn't catch my attention like the first two did. I have read her Anita Blake Series and I think she writes good starter books. Ones that start a series. And that's about it. after the first few, she rambles. She repeats things over and over. And the sex. Ugh. It get's so annoying. There's no reason for it to happen it just does. Its like she ran out of things to write about so she fills the awkward silence with sex. This book was so boring to me that I would think about other things then have to re-read what I just read to find out that I didn't miss anything. Don't Waste Your Time.Rate:

I have been trying to read The Vampire Diaries:The Return: Nightfall for four days now, and I just can't do it. I have only made it to chapter seven, but I am giving up. This Book is nothing like the first four, and it's filled with errors. At least I think. Almost every other paragraph I have to re-read what I just read because it doesn't make any sense. This book isn't worth the time or money. Good thing I checked it out from the library. I would have demanded my money back if I bought it.Rate:

Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning
I got the first book free from Barnes & Noble, and it just sucked me in. This series is like a drug to me, I try to read only a little bit at a time. but that doesn't work. It's page after page because I cant get enough, then it's over, and I'm sad. So I go onto the next book vowing to myself only a couple chapters at a time. And we all know how that ends. Needless to say, I love this Series! I'm so glad I found it! I love all the twists and turns, the little bits of romance, and how Mac is turning from a child into a woman. It has been a fun journey and i hope it never ends. Now off to the third book!

The Vampire Diaries
Ever since Twilight, I just can't get enough of the vampire books. I was searching and asking friends for any recommendations about vampire books that resembled the Twilight saga. A friend told me about the Sookie Stackhouse series. She said they were way better than Twilight so I had to get them. I ordered the 8 volume set and read them in a week. I liked the books, they weren't better than Twilight in my opinion, but they were more grown-up, and that's what I liked about them. The show, on the other hand, is just okay for me. I think they should have stuck closer to the books.
But anyways, back on topic, I read the Vampire Diaries over a year ago and the books didn't really appeal to me. I thought it was lacking in detail and plot. It didn't make me want to keep reading. Then I found out it was going to be a T.V. show. Even though I didn't like the books I was going to give the show a try because I used to watch Degrassi and Nina Dobrev played in it. Anyways, I think the Show is WAY better than the books. But I am in love with Stefan on the show. I think CW did him justice. I love the mystery and the darkness of him but he's not afraid to show that he loves Elena. And I found on Harper Teen, you can read the first 7 chapters of Stefan's Diaries for free! It's based on the books and the show combined! I'm excited to read it! I haven't read The Return series yet. (I don't know if I want to pay $10 a piece for the books when the first ones weren't that good.) What do you think? Have you read The Vampire Diaries? Do you watch the show? How do feel about the book compared to the show? Leave me a comment telling me what you think.

Crave by J.R. Ward
Crave is the second novel in the Fallen Angels series. It was a pretty good read, nothing compared to the first novel though. This book seemed very slow to me, I couldn't get into it until towards the end, then it picked up the pace. I think I'm starting to like the fallen Angels. I think Adrian is going to be my favorite. He has a secret, and I hope we find out more about him soon. At the end of Covet, Jim had to find and kill Issac Rothe, a soldier who went AWOL from XOps. Little does he know that's also his next mission to save the world. Its not hard to find him though, Issac gets arrested for illegal cage fighting. He gets a Court-Ordered attorney, which is the beautiful Grier Childe. And she is determined to help Issac if he wants it or not. She goes as far a paying for his bail. Then the sparks fly between the two, which ends in a night of passion that makes Isaac re-think leaving. Then Grier has a frightening encounter with Matthias, and Isaac realizes he must protect her, even as Jim urges him to get out of town. Who will win this war between good and evil? Read and find out. This is going to be a great Series!

Crazy Love by Leslie Morgan Steiner
This was a very good book, But I didn't like it. I knew I shouldn't have bought it but I needed something to read and it was only $2. It was a good story and it was well written but it was about one of the things I hate most: Abuse. This was a story about a woman who falls in love with her "Prince Charming". But the thing that made me really mad was that he started beating her before they got married, she still married him, and she stayed with him for 3 years. And it's a true story. I know when you love someone its hard to let go - I'm sorry but if someone hit me I would beat the $#!% out of them. I grew up in a house where my mom got beat by her boyfriends so I do not play around with that stuff. In the end she gave him a choice, stop beating her or she would leave. I don't want to spoil the book too much for you, so you will have to read the book to find out. Ok, I'm done venting.

Ashes of Midnight by Lara Adrian
This series reminds me of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I noticed similarities from the beginning and it sucked me in from the start. Although this one didn't keep me interested like the others did. It was a very good story I just had a hard time staying focused on the book. It didn't suck me in and keep me wanting more like the others did. Claire knows what she wants but she doesn't let Andreas know how she feels. Andreas feels the same way but doesn't want to hurt her. It's a very back and forth kind of story and I got bored very easy.
I would recommend this to a friend only because its part of a series and you don't want to miss any details.

Lover Avenged by J.R. Ward
Lover Avenged was actually pretty good. I have never been a fan of Rehvenge's but his book was really good. You get to see what he's been through and why he is so hard. He's part sympath, and he gets energy from manipulating peoples emotions. He is asked to kill Wrath and he never answers the question flat out. it keeps you guessing through the whole book. You learn a lot about Rehv in LA, and I think he earns more respect from it.

Lover Enshrined by J.R. Ward
Lover Enshrined is probably the worst book from the series in my opinion. Yeah you learned some of Phury's story but it mainly focused on Cormia and JM. It didn't really give away any new details about him. I guess it goes with his nature to think about everyone but himself but I was really mad that it didn't focus on him more.

Lover Unbound by J.R. Ward
Lover Unbound was an awesome book but I hated the ending. V has always been my favorite Brother. The end made my heart break even more for him. He never knew his mom, his father beat him, he had a crappy life altogether, then the one thing he loves most is taken from him. This book made me cry. I was so mad. I have re-read this series many times but I will never re-read this one. It makes me so mad and sad for him.
You have to read this book just so you know what happened. But be warned, you will need tissues.

Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward
Lover Revealed was a pretty good story. Butch O'Neal is an ex-homicide cop who never fit in. He is the only human ever to be in the inner circle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. He wants to go even deeper and help fight the lessening society. He's got nothing to lose, or so he thinks. He's captured by the Omega, and left to die. He's found by a miracle, and only one thing can bring him back. But even love may not be enough to save him. This book is a page turner. It has a lot of twists and turns. It will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward
Lover Awakened would have to be my absolute favorite out of all the BDB books. Zsadist has been through H-E-double-hockey-sticks and back. He was kidnapped when he was a baby, He was beaten and raped for centuries. Then his twin came to rescue him. Anger is his only companion and terror his only passion- until he rescues a beautiful female from the lessening society. Now Bella must help him overcome the wounds of his tortured past and find a future with her.

Lover Eternal by J.R. Ward
Lover Eternal made my cry like a baby. Be careful what you wish for, Mary Luce wanted to know what it was like for a guy to look at her with total adoration. Well, she got that and more when she bumped into Rhage. He was dangerous, animalistic, other worldly, and just plain HOT! Rhage didn't try to deny that pull between them, but Mary on the other hand didn't believe in miracles any more. She wasn't looking for love, she didn't want to get hurt. But no matter how hard she tried to stay away she couldn't.This book is a page turner, and then you wish you hadn't because then it's over.

Dark Lover by J.R. Ward
Title: Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood Series #1)
Author: J.R. Ward
Genre: Adult Paranormal Romance
Format: Paperback, 416pp
Author Website
Synopsis
In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.
The only purebred vampire left on earth, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But, when one of his most trusted fighters is killed-leaving his half-breed daughter unaware of his existence or her fate-Wrath must usher her into the world of the undead-a world of sensuality beyond her wildest dreams.
Review
Dark Lover was the beginning of a beautiful friendship! Even thought this was the first book it wasn't the best. It took me no time at all to read this though. Beware it was very explicit, very steamy. It's the story of Beth Randall, an orphaned half-breed unaware of her heritage or her fate. A dangerously sexy man comes to her at night with shadows in his eyes. His tales of blood and fighting scare her but his touch ignites a drawing hunger in her that threatens to consume them both.

Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick
Title: Crescendo (The Hush, Hush Trilogy #2)
Author: Becca Fitzpatrick
Genre: Young Adult
Format: ARC, 432pp
Author Website
Synopsis
Nora should have know her life was far from perfect. Despite starting a relationship with her guardian angel, Patch (who, title aside, can be described anything but angelic), and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking up. Patch is starting to pull away and Nora can't figure out if it's for her best interest or if his interest has shifted to her arch-enemy Marcie Millar. Not to mention that Nora is haunted by images of her father and she becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened to him that night he left for Portland and never came home.
The farther Nora delves into the mystery of her father's death, the more she comes to question if her Nephilim blood line has something to do with it as well as why she seems to be in danger more than the average girl. Since Patch isn't answering her questions and seems to be standing in her way, she has to start finding the answers on her own. Relying too heavily on the fact that she has a guardian angel puts Nora at risk again and again. But can she really count on Patch or is he hiding secrets darker than she can even imagine?
Review
I was one of fifty lucky people to get an ARC from B&N. The only bad thing about ARC's is now I have to wait even longer for the next one to come out. Starting count down now!
I was a little disappointed that the beginning didn't keep me on the edge of my chair like Hush, Hush did, but the end made up for it. There were so many twists and turns my emotions didn't know what to think. Every time I though "this is the one. he did it." something else would come up and I'm like "no, maybe he did it?". I thought it was the perfect sequel to Hush, Hush. I love the friendship Nora and Vee have. Vee is so funny, and sometimes that's exactly what you need when nothing's going the way you want it. They are the kind of friends that are always there for each other no matter what. The kind that drop what they're doing and rush to the scene.
Crescendo made me laugh, made me cry, I was mad, happy and scared, and I got butterflies in my stomach. There was so much depth and description I felt like I was there though out the whole story. I would definitely recommend this series!

Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
I have to tell you that I read this whole book ( 252 page ebook) in 7 hours. I started reading at 8 pm after my son went to sleep and stayed up until 3 am because I couldn't put it down. I love to read but I usually dont read that fast.
I love the Relationship between Patch and Nora. She can't deny there's a pull between them but she doesn't run to him like a love struck idiot. For some reason they always run into each other, he's always there when there's trouble, when she needs him most. Although she trusts her better instinct and tries to find out more about him, shes in over her head. The more she digs the crazier things get.
I thought this book would have been a romance, and there is some romance in there but it is definitely a mystery. I had so many emotions running through me, happy, scared, mad. I even got butterflies with some of the interactions between Patch and Nora. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend if they like mystery/romance.

For those of you who live in North Texas. I found a bookstore in Denton-Books & More- and I was in heaven. It's a used bookstore that sell mainly romances, their books are in excellent condition and they sell them for half the cover price! The best part is they stamp them and when you're done they will buy them back. They also sell/trade CD's, DVD's, Video Games, Records and Memorabilia. I will definitely go back!

For the love of books..
Reading a book is like stepping out of my world and in to another one. I love how a book can suck you in. It doesn't matter what you look like, you can be the Plain Jane woman that stops every mans heart, or the bad boy alpha male that just wants to find his true love. A book lets you put an image to the words you're reading. It's like you're the director and it's all up to you. No matter how stressed I am or whats going on in my life, I can open a book and forget all my worries. That's why I started blogging about books. I want to share some of my favorite books with you. Maybe you'll like them, maybe you wont. Either way, it took you away form your worries for a short period of time, and that all I want to accomplish. Hopefully you will share some of you're favorites with me. I'm always looking for another good book.
