Synopsis
With her knack for being in trouble's way, Sookie witnesses the firebombing of Merlotte's, the bar where she works. Since Sam Merlotte is now known to be two-natured, suspicion falls immediately on the anti-shifters in the area. Sookie suspects otherwise, but her attention is divided when she realizes that her lover Eric Northman and his "child" Pam are plotting to kill the vampire who is now their master. Gradually, Sookie is drawn into the plot-which is much more complicated than she knows...
Review
I found this book seriously lacking. It seemed like this was just restating what has happened in the past two books. Eric's preoccupied, Jannalynn is vicious, Tara's pregnant, Claude is an ass.The huge fight at the end just didn't do it for me. That's usually the part I cant wait for. I feel like there used to be more mystery. I figured there would be more conflict with Sandra Pelt. There would be so much action, it would build up to the end and throw it in your face and it left you happy that you tagged along for the ride. Maybe I need to take a break from reading. As much as I would hate it. It seems like reading is a chore now. the books don't grad me like they used to. Has anyone else ever felt this way? I don't know whats happening to me. It's taking me forever to read some of the books I used to love. Does anyone else feel this way? Are the authors dragging out the books with nothing to write? Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Thanks for the review. If I had seen this one I'd have picked it up for the cover alone. Not now, though.
ReplyDeleteThe book wasn't horrible, it just wasn't as good as the others. I felt like she was just repeating things she had already said. You don't really get any new story lines out of this one. But if you're a fan of the novels you might want to pick it up from the library.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review. I've put off picking up this book for some reason and am glad I didn't get it yet. I'll definitely get it from the library, at least.
